What's up with Michael Bennet's district?

Colorado: Quick Facts

Population: 5,773,714 (2020 Census Report)
Major Cities: Denver (population: 760,049)
Colorado Springs (population: 495,183)

Demographics

all graphs made by me with data from the 2020 Census Report.  appreciate the pretty colors.

Colorado is surprisingly white; I say surprisingly because much of what is Colorado today once belonged to Mexico and there is a long history of indigenous people in the region...but alas... 87% white.

Let's take a look at the religions of Coloradans:
This actually surprises me because of Colorado's urbanness in the Denver and surrounding area and also the progressiveness!

What about their income?
Colorado had a median income of $72,331 from 2015 to 2019 with a 9% poverty rate.
Not too bad, seeing as the national rate is 11.4%. (2020 Census Report)

Here's the age distribution:
The average age is 35.5 years old.

Here are the rural v. urban v. frontier counties (Colorado Rural Health Center)
This map includes "frontier" counties which pretty much just means very remote and sparsely populated in comparison to even rural areas. So when Senator Bennet says he cares about rural communities, is this a homestyle play at garnering most of Colorado's population, even though he is from the most urban part of the state, Denver? Yes, probably.

Major Industries & Companies

According to Colorado's Office of Economic Development and International Trade, there are 14 major industries in CO, 7 of which are STEM-based!

The number one industry is currently aerospace. CO is the #1 state in private aerospace employment. The Office of Economic Development and International Trade says:
"Aerospace in Colorado generated $6.8 B in output, 1.7% of the state GDP of $390 B in 2019."

Companies like Ball, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Sierra Nevada Corporations Space Systems, and United Launch Alliance, are a few of the nation's best aerospace companies based out of the state.

Colorado's other major industries include:

2) Advanced Manufacturing
3) Bioscience
4) Creative Industries
5) Defense & Homeland Security
6) Electronics
7) Energy & National Resources
8) Financial Services
9) Food & Agriculture
10) Health & Wellness
11) Infrastructure Engineering
12) Technology & Information
13) Tourism & Outdoor Recreation
14) Transportation & Logistics

Party Affiliation

According to the Pew Research Center, CO is pretty split evenly:

And here's the turnout for the last presidential election (politico.com):
Again, much closer than I thought it would be! Biden won 9 electoral votes from this state by a 13.5% margin.

Economics

So, Colorado's economy has been doing great despite COVID-19...which is just great for them. According to economists quoted by The Denver Post, the state GDP has returned to pre-recession levels, the unemployment rate has dropped, and they have added 102,100 jobs from September 2020 to September 2021.

68.8% of the state is fully vaccinated and while they no longer have some of the most strict mask mandates in the nation like they did in 2020, there are still several shops, restaurants, and buildings that enforce mask mandates and proof of vaccination upon entrance (covid19.colorado.gov)
